마이룸캠(My Room Cam)은 맥을 켜 두면 카메라와 마이크로 공간을 지켜보는 블랙박스입니다. 밖에서 폰으로 지금 모습을 실시간으로 보고, 소리나 움직임이 나면 폰에 알림을 받고, 그 순간의 앞뒤를 클립으로 남겨 다시 봅니다. macOS 앱과 같은 iCloud 계정의 iOS 앱이 짝입니다.

한 줄 요약

마이룸캠은 개인정보를 수집하지 않습니다. 영상 · 소리와 그 기록은 사용자의 맥과 사용자 본인 iCloud 안에만 남습니다. 개발자는 그 기록에 접근할 수 없습니다. 실시간 보기의 영상은 맥과 폰 사이를 직접 오갑니다. 영상 클립은 「iCloud 에도 사본 남기기」를 켰을 때만 사용자 본인 iCloud 에 사본이 올라가고, 그 밖의 어디로도 가지 않습니다.

개발자가 운영하는 서버는 중계 서버 하나뿐입니다. 플러스를 산 사용자의 폰만 중계를 받을 때 이 서버에 구입을 확인받고, 서버는 확인한 거래를 저장하지 않습니다. 영상 · 소리 · 기록은 이 서버로 가지 않습니다(아래 「플러스와 중계」).

맥이 iCloud 에 로그인돼 있지 않으면 사건 · 알림 · 상태 · 기기 레코드도 올라가지 않고, 폰에서 보거나 알림을 받을 수도 없습니다. 기록 · 클립 · 웹훅은 iCloud 없이도 됩니다.

밖으로 나가는 것들

마이룸캠이 내보내는 것은 사용자 본인 iCloud 를 지나거나, 맥과 폰 사이를 직접 오가거나, 사용자가 직접 적은 웹훅 주소로 가는 것뿐입니다. 하나의 예외는 플러스의 중계입니다. 플러스인 폰은 중계를 받을 때 구입 거래를 개발자의 중계 서버에 보내고, 그때 영상은 Cloudflare 의 중계 서버를 암호화된 채로 지납니다(아래 「플러스와 중계」).

사용자 본인 iCloud (CloudKit private 데이터베이스)

맥과 폰은 같은 iCloud 계정의 CloudKit private 데이터베이스로 서로를 봅니다. 이 데이터베이스는 사용자 본인 소유라 개발자는 접근할 수 없습니다. 거기에 두는 레코드는 다음과 같습니다.

• 기기 — 맥과 폰이 각각 한 줄. 앱이 만든 무작위 id, 종류(맥 · 폰), 기기 이름(맥의 컴퓨터 이름, 폰의 이름), 마지막으로 본 시각. 폰은 이것으로 짝 맥을 찾습니다.
• 사건 — 소리나 움직임이 임계값을 넘어 사건이 열릴 때 한 줄. 열리고 닫힌 시각, 어느 감각 (마이크 · 카메라)이었는지, 어느 맥인지, 판별을 켰다면 그 결과(라벨과 신뢰도), 그리고 "개가 짖었어요" 같은 한 줄. 영상도 소리도 들어 있지 않습니다.
• 알림 — 알림을 내보낼 때 한 줄(어느 사건 · 시각 · 한 줄 요약). 폰 알림의 근거입니다.
• 상태 — 맥이 켜 둠 · 꺼짐과 튜닝 값을 올리는 한 줄. 맥마다 하나이고 올릴 때마다 덮어씁니다. 폰이 "맥 켜 둠 · 꺼짐 · 연락이 닿지 않음"을 보이는 데 씁니다.
• 클립 — 「iCloud 에도 사본 남기기」를 켰을 때만. 아래 절에 있습니다.
• 실시간 보기 — 연결 정보(offer · answer)와, 직접 연결이 막혔을 때의 영상 조각. 보는 동안만 있고 곧 지웁니다. 아래 절에 있습니다.

폰에서 맥을 조종하는 명령 레코드는 이번 출시에 들어 있지 않습니다 — 폰은 맥을 켜거나 끄거나 감도를 바꿀 수 없습니다.

실시간 보기 (폰에서 지금 모습 보기)

폰 앱의 「실시간 보기」는 맥 카메라의 영상을 WebRTC 로 맥과 폰 사이에 직접 보냅니다. 소리는 보내지 않습니다.

• 연결을 맺으려고 폰이 offer 를, 맥이 answer 를 사용자 본인 iCloud 에 한 줄씩 올립니다. 이 글자에는 서로의 네트워크 주소가 들어 있습니다. 맥은 본 지 30초가 지난 offer 에는 답하지 않고, 폰은 보기를 떠나며 제 offer · answer 를 지우며, 맥은 120초가 지난 것을 지웁니다.
• 기기의 공인 주소를 알아내려고 STUN 서버(Cloudflare, stun.cloudflare.com)에 묻습니다. STUN 은 주소만 답하고 영상은 지나지 않습니다. 영상을 대신 넘겨 주는 TURN 중계는 플러스 사용자에게만 쓰입니다(아래 「플러스와 중계」).
• 영상은 WebRTC 표준의 종단 간 암호화(DTLS-SRTP)로 갑니다. 맥은 폰이 보고 있을 때만 인코딩하고 보냅니다.
• 직접 연결이 막힌 네트워크(호텔 · 공용 와이파이 등)에서는 폰이 10초 안에 화면을 받지 못하면 「직접 연결이 막혀 iCloud 로 받아오는 중」으로 넘어갑니다. 그때는 맥이 약 4초짜리 영상 조각(720p · 500 kbps 안팎)을 사용자 본인 iCloud 에 하나씩 올리고 폰이 받아 이어 봅니다 — 5~15초쯤 늦습니다. 폰은 받은 조각을 곧바로 지우고, 밀린 조각은 건너뛰며 지우고, 폰이 보기를 그치거나 맥이 멈추면 맥이 그 보기의 조각을 전부 지웁니다. 그래서 사용자 iCloud 에 남는 것은 보는 동안의 조각 몇 개뿐입니다. 이 경로는 사용자 iCloud 의 저장 공간과 트래픽을 씁니다.

플러스와 중계 (유료)

폰 앱에서 파는 마이룸캠 플러스는 두 가지를 엽니다 — 사건의 영상과 소리를 폰에서 다시 보는 것(아래 「iCloud 에도 사본 남기기」의 사본을 봅니다), 그리고 중계입니다. 직접 연결이 막힌 네트워크에서 무료로는 위의 iCloud 영상 조각으로 몇 초 늦게 보고, 플러스면 Cloudflare 의 TURN 중계 서버를 거쳐 실시간으로 봅니다.

• 상품은 다섯이고 무엇을 사도 플러스는 같습니다: 기간권 1일 · 3일 · 7일(그 기간이 지나면 끝나고 다시 결제되지 않습니다), 월간 구독(처음 7일 무료 체험, 그 뒤 한 달마다 자동 갱신), 연간 구독(한 해마다 자동 갱신).
• 결제는 App Store 가 처리합니다. 개발자는 카드 정보나 Apple 계정을 받지 않습니다. 구독의 해지와 환불도 App Store 에서 합니다.
• 영상 · 소리 다시 보기는 폰이 App Store 의 구입 기록만 보고 엽니다. 이때는 어떤 서버에도 묻지 않습니다.
• 플러스인 폰은 실시간 보기를 시작할 때마다 App Store 가 서명한 구입 거래를 개발자의 중계 서버(Cloudflare Workers 에서 도는 프로그램)에 보냅니다. 거래에는 거래 id · 최초 거래 id · 앱 · 상품 · 구입 시각(구독이면 만료 시각도) · 환불 여부 · 구입한 나라와 가격 같은 값이 들어 있습니다. 이름 · 이메일 · Apple 계정은 들어 있지 않습니다. 플러스가 아닌 폰은 이 서버에 묻지 않습니다.
• 서버는 거래가 Apple 의 서명을 지녔는지, 이 앱의 플러스 상품인지, 아직 유효하고(기간권은 산 때부터 그 날수 동안) 환불되지 않았는지만 확인하고 거래를 저장하지 않습니다. 남용을 막으려고 1분 동안의 요청 횟수를 IP 주소와 구입(최초 거래 id)별로 셉니다. Cloudflare 에 중계 자격 증명을 청할 때는 구입의 해시만 붙여 사용량을 셉니다 — 거래 id 자체는 Cloudflare 에 넘기지 않습니다.
• 확인이 되면 서버는 중계 서버 주소와 2시간짜리 일회용 자격 증명을 폰에 줍니다. 폰은 그것을 연결 정보(offer)에 실어 사용자 본인 iCloud 를 거쳐 맥에 넘깁니다. 맥은 개발자의 서버에 묻지 않습니다.
• 중계를 지나는 영상도 WebRTC 의 종단 간 암호화(DTLS-SRTP)가 그대로 걸려 있어 Cloudflare 도 개발자도 내용을 볼 수 없습니다. Cloudflare 는 중계하는 동안 두 기기의 네트워크 주소와 트래픽 양을 봅니다.

폰 알림

맥이 알림을 내보내면 알림 레코드가 사용자 본인 iCloud 에 생기고, 폰 앱이 그 레코드의 생성에 걸어 둔 CloudKit 구독이 Apple 의 푸시로 폰에 알림을 띄웁니다. 알림에 실리는 것은 "개가 짖었어요" 같은 한 줄과 시각뿐입니다. 폰의 알림 권한이 필요하고, 개발자의 서버는 끼지 않습니다.

웹훅 알림

기본은 꺼짐입니다. 설정의 알림 절에서 「웹훅으로 보내기」를 켜고 직접 주소를 입력했을 때만, 알림이 나갈 때 그 주소로 알림 한 줄이 전송됩니다. 본문은 사용자가 템플릿으로 바꾸고, 채울 수 있는 값은 셋입니다.

영상도 소리도 전송되지 않습니다. 받는 곳(Slack · Discord · 사용자 자체 서버 등)은 사용자가 고르고 소유하며, 그곳의 데이터 처리는 해당 서비스의 방침을 따릅니다. 인터넷 주소는 https 만 받고, 평문 http 는 집 안 주소(.local · 사설 IP 등)에만 허용합니다. 주소는 이 맥의 키체인에만 남습니다.

iCloud 에도 사본 남기기 (클립)

설정의 기록 탭에 있는 스위치이고 기본은 꺼짐입니다. 켜면 클립마다 영상 · 소리만 담은 파일 · 긴 변 640px 로 줄인 썸네일 · 메타데이터(시각 · 길이 · 종류 · 별표)가 사용자 본인 iCloud 에 올라가, 같은 계정의 폰 앱 「기록」 목록에서 클립을 보고 소리를 듣고 영상을 열어 볼 수 있습니다. 폰은 목록에서는 썸네일만 받고, 클립 하나를 열 때만 그 클립의 소리나 영상을 내려받습니다. 켜면 이미 남긴 클립도 새것부터 올리고, 끄면 이 맥이 올린 클립 사본을 iCloud 에서 지웁니다. 올린 만큼 사용자 iCloud 의 저장 공간을 쓰고, 영상이 함께 가므로 클립마다 수 MB 에서 수십 MB 입니다. 개발자는 이 사본에 접근할 수 없습니다.

개발자가 받는 정보

플러스인 폰이 중계를 받을 때 보내는 구입 거래뿐이고, 확인한 뒤 저장하지 않습니다(위 「플러스와 중계」). 그 밖에는 없습니다. 분석 도구, 광고, 크래시 리포트 SDK, 제3자 SDK 를 일절 쓰지 않습니다. 사용자를 추적하지 않습니다. 실시간 보기가 쓰는 WebRTC 라이브러리는 앱 안에서 돌고 어디에도 보고하지 않습니다.

카메라와 마이크 권한

카메라와 마이크는 「켜 두기」를 누른 동안만 씁니다. 둘은 설정에서 따로 끌 수 있고 끈 상태는 기억됩니다. 카메라를 쓰는 동안 맥의 초록 표시등이 켜지고, 마이룸캠의 메뉴 막대 아이콘은 켜 둔 동안 채워진 모양으로 바뀝니다. 숨겨서 기록하는 모드는 없습니다. 이번 출시에서는 폰이 맥을 켤 수 없습니다 — 켜고 끄는 것은 맥 앞의 사람뿐입니다.

판별

설정의 「무슨 일인지 판별하기」(기본 꺼짐)를 켜면 사건이 열려 있는 동안 소리와 영상을 살펴 라벨을 붙입니다 — 소리는 Apple SoundAnalysis 의 내장 분류기로 개 짖음 · 고양이 울음 · 아기 울음 · 말소리 · 유리 깨짐 · 경보음 · 초인종 · 노크를, 영상은 Apple Vision 의 사람 검출기와 동물 인식기로 사람 · 개 · 고양이를 알아봅니다. 전부 맥 안에서 돌고, 판별을 위해 소리나 영상이 맥 밖으로 나가는 일은 없습니다. 결과는 라벨과 신뢰도의 글자로 사건 레코드와 알림 한 줄에 실립니다.

말소리와 사람

마이룸캠은 차량용 블랙박스처럼 들린 소리와 보인 모습을 가리지 않고 남깁니다. 말소리로 판별된 사건도 "말소리" 라벨만 붙고 클립은 다른 소리와 똑같이 보관됩니다. 사람이 보인 사건도 "사람" 라벨만 붙고 영상은 그대로 남습니다 — 말소리나 사람을 골라 지우거나 가리는 기능은 없습니다. (2026년 10월 이전 버전에는 말소리로 판별된 클립의 오디오를 지우는 기능이 있었습니다. 그 버전의 기록은 이 버전으로 넘어오지 않습니다.)

따라서 어디에 두고 무엇을 기록하는지는 사용자의 책임입니다. 켜 둔 동안임을 메뉴 막대 아이콘과 카메라 표시등이 항상 드러내며, 숨겨서 녹음 · 촬영하는 모드는 없습니다.

⚠️ 본인이 참여하지 않은 타인 간의 대화를 녹음하는 것은 대한민국 통신비밀보호법 제3조 위반이며 형사처벌 대상입니다(제16조). 다른 사람들이 대화하는 공간에 두지 마시고, 그런 용도로 사용하지 마세요. 카메라도 마찬가지로 본인의 공간에만 두세요.

보관과 삭제

• 기본 보관 기준은 30일 / 10 GB이며 설정의 기록 탭에서 바꿀 수 있습니다. 먼저 걸리는 쪽 기준으로 오래된 것부터 자동 삭제되고, 녹화 조각과 클립이 이 예산을 함께 씁니다. 둘 다 제한 없음으로 둘 수는 없습니다.
• 별표한 클립은 자동 삭제되지 않습니다.
• 타임라인 창에서 클립을 하나씩 지울 수 있고, 「클립 폴더 열기」로 연 Finder 에서 지워도 됩니다.
• 앱을 삭제하면 앱 컨테이너가 함께 지워집니다.
• 「iCloud 에도 사본 남기기」가 켜져 있었다면, 맥에서 지운 클립은 iCloud 의 사본도 함께 지워집니다. 스위치를 끄면 이 맥이 올린 클립 사본을 전부 지웁니다.
• 사건 · 알림 레코드는 30일이 지나면 맥이 iCloud 에서 지웁니다. 클립이 아직 맥에 남아 있는 사건의 레코드는 그 클립이 있는 동안 남습니다(타임라인이 "무엇이었는지"를 거기서 읽습니다). 상태 · 기기 레코드는 기기마다 한 줄이고 덮어씁니다.
• 실시간 보기의 연결 정보와 영상 조각은 보는 동안만 있고 위 「실시간 보기」 절대로 지웁니다.
• 중계 서버는 구입 거래를 저장하지 않습니다. 중계 자격 증명은 2시간 뒤 쓸 수 없게 됩니다.

모든 데이터가 사용자 본인의 맥과 iCloud 안에만 있으므로, 열람 · 정정 · 삭제를 개발자에게 요청할 필요가 없고 사용자가 직접 언제든 수행할 수 있습니다.

아동

만 14세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 연령 정보를 수집하지 않습니다.

변경 시 이 문서를 갱신하고 최종 수정일을 바꿉니다. 수집 항목이 늘어나는 변경은 앱 업데이트 내용에도 함께 밝힙니다.

My Room Cam turns a Mac into a home camera: leave it on and watch the room live from your iPhone, get a notification when there is a sound or movement, and review a short clip of what happened. The Mac app and the companion iOS app share one iCloud account.

My Room Cam collects no personal data. Video, audio and their records stay on your Mac and in your own iCloud, which the developer cannot access. Video clips leave your Mac only if you turn on the iCloud copy, and then only for your own iCloud. The developer runs one server, the relay server: only phones with My Room Cam Plus ask it to confirm their purchase when they use the relay, it keeps none of what it checks, and no video, audio or record ever reaches it (see "Plus and the relay" below).

What is stored, and where:

• On your Mac, inside the app container (~/Library/Containers/com.nilgil.myroomcam/Data/Library/Application Support/MyRoomCam/): recording segments, clips (.mp4 or .m4a), each clip's audio-only file and thumbnail, and their metadata. Clips are deleted automatically after 30 days or 10 GB by default, oldest first, starred clips excepted. Removing the app removes the container.
• In your own iCloud (CloudKit private database), which the developer cannot read, whenever the Mac is signed in to iCloud: one device record per Mac and phone (a random id, the kind, the device name, when it was last seen); one event record per detected sound or motion event (when it opened and closed, which sense, which Mac, the on-device classification result, and a one-line summary such as "Dog barked"); one alert record each time an alert is sent (event, time, the same line); and one status line per Mac (on or off, tuning values, when it was published). Event and alert records are deleted by the Mac after 30 days. None of these contain video or audio. Remote control from the phone is not part of this release.
• In the Keychain: the device's random id on both devices, and the webhook address on the Mac.

Live view. The phone and the Mac exchange a WebRTC offer and answer through your own iCloud (these contain the devices' network addresses; the phone removes them when it leaves and the Mac removes anything older than 120 seconds). Video — no audio — then travels directly between the two devices, encrypted end to end (DTLS-SRTP). To learn its public address each device asks a STUN server (Cloudflare, stun.cloudflare.com); STUN sees addresses only, never video. A TURN relay is used only with My Room Cam Plus (see below). If a direct connection is blocked (hotel or public Wi-Fi, for example), the Mac instead uploads short video segments (about 4 seconds each, 720p, about 500 kbps) to your own iCloud and the phone plays them 5–15 seconds behind. The phone deletes each segment as soon as it has read it, and the Mac deletes the rest when the watch ends, so only a few segments ever exist. The Mac encodes and sends only while a phone is watching.

Plus and the relay. My Room Cam Plus, sold in the phone app, opens two things: replaying an event's video and sound on the phone (from the iCloud copy below), and the relay. Without Plus, a blocked network falls back to the iCloud segments above; with Plus, the video goes through Cloudflare's TURN relay instead and stays live. There are five products and each gives the same Plus: 1-, 3- and 7-day passes (they end after that time and are never charged again), a monthly subscription (7-day free trial, then renews every month) and a yearly subscription (renews every year). The App Store handles payment; the developer never receives card details or your Apple Account, and you cancel or ask for a refund in the App Store. Video and sound replay is unlocked by the phone from the App Store's own purchase record, asking no server. Each time a phone with Plus starts a live view it sends its purchase transaction, as signed by the App Store, to the developer's relay server (a program on Cloudflare Workers). The transaction holds values such as the transaction id, the original transaction id, the app, the product, the purchase time (and, for a subscription, the expiry time), whether it was refunded, and the storefront and price; it holds no name, email or Apple Account. Phones without Plus never contact this server. The server checks Apple's signature, that the product is this app's Plus, and that it is current (a pass for its number of days from purchase) and not refunded, and does not store the transaction. To limit abuse it counts requests per minute by IP address and by purchase (original transaction id). When it asks Cloudflare for relay credentials it attaches only a hash of the purchase, never the transaction id. The phone receives the relay addresses and one-time credentials valid for two hours and passes them to the Mac inside the offer, through your own iCloud; the Mac never contacts the server. Relayed video keeps WebRTC's end-to-end encryption (DTLS-SRTP), so neither Cloudflare nor the developer can see it; Cloudflare sees the two devices' network addresses and the amount of traffic while it relays.

Phone notifications. The phone subscribes, through CloudKit, to the creation of alert records in your own iCloud; Apple's push service delivers the notification. It carries one line and the time. No server of ours is involved.

Webhook alerts (off by default). If you turn on "send by webhook" and enter an address, each alert is POSTed there with a body you can edit: the summary line, the time and the event id. Audio and video are never sent. You choose and own the destination. Plain http is accepted only for home-network addresses; Internet addresses must use https. The address is kept in the Keychain.

Clip copies in iCloud (off by default). If you turn on "keep a copy in iCloud" in the Recording tab, each clip's video, its audio-only file, a thumbnail reduced to 640 px and its metadata go to your own iCloud so the phone app can list the clip, play its sound and open its video. The phone downloads only thumbnails for the list, and a clip's sound or video only when that clip is opened. Turning it on uploads existing clips; turning it off deletes this Mac's copies from iCloud, and deleting a clip on the Mac deletes its copy. The copies use your iCloud storage — with the video, from a few to a few tens of MB per clip — and the developer cannot access them.

Classification (off by default) runs entirely on the Mac with Apple's SoundAnalysis (built-in sound classifier: dog bark, cat meow, baby cry, speech, glass breaking, alarm, doorbell, knock) and Vision (person, dog, cat). No audio or video leaves the device for it; the result is written as text into the event record and the alert line.

Apart from the purchase transaction a phone with Plus sends for the relay, checked and not kept, the developer receives nothing. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, no tracking.

Camera and microphone are used only while the Mac is switched on from its menu bar; either can be turned off in Settings. The camera's indicator light is on while the camera is used and the menu bar icon fills while the app is on; there is no hidden mode, and in this release the phone cannot switch the Mac on. Like a dash cam, My Room Cam keeps whatever it hears and sees: an event classified as speech is labeled "speech" and one with a person is labeled "person", but the clip is kept like any other — nothing is deleted or blurred. Where you place the Mac and what it records is therefore your responsibility. Recording a conversation you are not part of is a crime under Korean law; do not use My Room Cam in a space where other people talk, and keep the camera to your own space.
